Meet the Teacher

Educational Background

I graduated from Saint Francis College in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Honors Program.  I have taken many different classes since then especially in the area of writing. I am going to be a member of our anti-bullying team at Stewartsville.  Our team looks forward to doing all that we can to ensure every child feels special and important at our school.  I look forward to teaching your children this year!

Work Experience

I have been with Norwin School District since 1994.  I have been blessed to teach fourth grade here my entire career.  Prior to teaching fourth grade, I have taught first grade, kindergarten, and second grade.

Outside of School

I am married and the proud mother of two wonderful boys.  My oldest son, Kyle, is the play by play broadcaster for the Washington Wild Things and for high school sports on TRIBHSSN.  My younger son, Nick,  works for Pro Bikes and does a lot of training on his BMX bike.

I do a lot of volunteering at my church and for the teachers that I work with at Stewartsville  as well as the entire district.  My favorite hobbies are scrapbooking, bike riding, and reading.  I also love watching the Pirates, the Steelers, and once in a while the Penguins.  I love to to watch Nick race BMX and listen to Kyle broadcast for the Wild Things and several area high school sports.  Spending time with my family and friends is very important to me.

A little extra!

My passion for teaching has not wavered in over 44 years give or take!  I have been teaching as long as I can remember.  My brothers and my friends were members of my first classes!  My desire to teach started so very early in life, and my career choice never changed.  I love spending time with the children, and I hope that my passion is evident in all that I do.  You can be sure that when your children are with me, they are cared for as if they are my own.  While I push them to be the best they can be and hold high expectations, it is because I care so strongly and want the very best for each and every one of the boys are girls! I hold those same expectations for myself always striving to learn more and make changes that will help the students grow!
