KAITLYN FUNG » Meet the Teacher!

Meet the Teacher!

Welcome to 4th Grade! My name is Miss Fung, and I will be your ELA teacher this year.

I cannot wait to meet YOU and help you grow!

A few things I'd love for you to know about me include my love of spending time with my family, my passion for teaching, as well as my passion for dancing. I also love to cheer and help my girls to build our school spirit as the Norwin High School Cheerleading coach.

I am blessed to be part of a big family who all enjoy getting together often. I have my brother, Jason, my sister, Krystal, my sister in law, Annie, and my nephew and niece, Jackson and Jocelyn. We enjoy Steeler Sundays together, and we spend time with one another to celebrate our special days throughout the year. You can often find me on the soccer field supporting Jackson or at Dancin J's supporting Jocelyn.

Ever since I was little, I had a passion for teaching. I spent time with my mom in her 1st Grade classroom A LOT! I would pretend I was the teacher and help her with small jobs. One of my favorite things to do was find out who her new students were each year and that remains true still today. I love getting to know my students!

I also love dancing! I trained through Ken and Jean's Dance studio, was part of my dance team at IUP, and today I continue to dance at the Race for Grace. When I dance, I'm given the opportunity to express myself in another way. It brings me true happiness.

Educational Background:

I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a dual degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. I have also earned my Master's degree in Educational Technology.

I have been blessed to be part of the Norwin School District since 2014. This will be my eighth year teaching 4th Grade! Prior to 4th Grade, I was a paraprofessional in Learning Support at Sunset Valley, and then had the opportunity to teach in two long-term positions at Stewartsville and Hahntown Elementary.
