Welcome to the Library! My name is Mrs. Emily Stephany and I am the school librarian at Sunset Valley Elementary and Stewartsville Elementary. It is my hope to make the library a place where your child feels comfortable to learn, enjoy books, and develop a love of reading!
Your child will come to the library for a 40 minute class once per 6 day cycle. Half day kindergarten students will come for 30 minutes. The children will bring home one library book each cycle. Library books are expected to come back with your child on his/her designated library day. If your child wishes to renew a book, it should still be brought to class so that it can be renewed for another cycle. If your child forgets his/her book, he/she may be unable to take home a book. However, any student that forgets can always put a book on hold. This way he/she can stop in the following morning and exchange their book.
In order to preserve our resources, it is important that your child takes proper care of his or her library books. If books become lost or damaged, you will be responsible to pay to replace them. Overdue notices will be sent home throughout the year.
Students can earn up to 5 points each class for following our rules, as well as additional points for our daily activity and/or assignment. Our Library Rules are:
