Student Assistance Program (SAP)

What is the Student Assistance Program?
This program helps students overcome barriers to learning so that they achieve, remain in school, and advance. It is an intervention program, not a treatment program that integrates a process of information gathering, and referral through a team. Parental permission is necessary for this program.

The Stewartsville SAP team is (back row) Ms. Laughery,  Mrs. Miklos.  (front row) and Mrs. MacLaughlin. Before any action is taken, parents/guardians are notified and provided with approval forms that must be submitted prior to any action through S.A.P.

The Student Assistant Program is comprised of trained school professionals (school counselors, teachers, and administrators) who receive referrals from parents, teachers, students, and other school staff. This team works closely with outside agencies and other counseling and referral services.
